Not much change
Sunday, March 26th, 2006Not much change. This is getting old. P.S. is sunny with 4 C. while we are sitting here at 34 F., but it is overcast and dank and crappy. The day began with mixed flurries and drizzle, flizzle I guess, and lots of fog.
But things are looking up. We can see open water at the foot of James Street, the ouyflow of the Seguin River. So it has begun visually.
Not such a good day so far in WNY
Saturday, March 25th, 2006Not such a good day so far in WNY. Just below freezing here, but feels much colder. Light snow overnight and very much overcast this morning. P.S. is the place to be, sunny and much warmer, 2 C. more sun on the way, but no hoped for rain.
Our new blog format looks good. We gittin’ t’ be like a pro.
Light overcast today in both New York and P.S.
Thursday, March 23rd, 2006Today is the first whole day of spring
Tuesday, March 21st, 2006Today is the first whole day of spring. And things look much better today. Its a nice early spring day in Western N.Y. About 34 F. with sun. P.S. is about -7 C. and also with sun. We have to remember that it is still March and even April alway has some snow.
Its a good day to take down trees.
Well, Spring came knocking at 1:26 pm. today, but Old Man Winter wouldn’t let her in
Monday, March 20th, 2006Well, Spring came knocking at 1:26 pm. today, but Old Man Winter wouldn’t let her in. A very bad day in much of the country with signifigant snow fall. Roads closed and all of that. Here in Western New York it is not that bad. We have a 30 F. temp reading right now, but it is windy and raw, and feels much colder. Overcast too. About an inch of snow today, but it is gone now. Parry sound is at -5 C. But the wind is less. And the sun is out. Looks good to me.
It looks as though winter snuck back in on us
Saturday, March 18th, 2006It looks as though winter snuck back in on us. Chilly and blustery in New York. It has stayed below freezing most if not all of the week. P.S. has had colder weather, but much nicer weather. reasonable winds and lots of Sun. My bank statement and GBA propaganda came yesterday. With money in one hand and propaganda in the other I am hot to trot.
Warm in New York, 68 F. and heavy rain and thunder storms now and tonight
Monday, March 13th, 2006Warm in New York, 68 F. and heavy rain and thunder storms now and tonight. In P.S. its 6 C. and light rain. What the ice can’t take is rain. The snow has mostly melted in town and the ice is covered with about a foot of slush. Its that old ain’t nobody goin’ no place time. My foot itches.
We know it can change, but it certainly is spring, at least for now
Saturday, March 11th, 2006We know it can change, but it certainly is spring, at least for now. About 60 F. and sunny in New York, and about 50 F. and sunny in P.S. I am actually packing and the better half is helping.
As a point of interest, for high temperature we beat Los Angeles (59 F.), Albuquerque (58 F.), San Diego (58 F.), and Las Vegas (55 F.), among others. And we had less snow too. None.
For what its worth, it looks as though the South Channel Association will try a social event this summer.
48 F. and drizzle here. 4 C. and drizzle in P.S.
Thursday, March 9th, 200648 F. and drizzle here. 4 C. and drizzle in P.S. The icebreker Samuel Risley left port today for Sarnia. She will eventually go to Thunder bay to open the port for spring shipping. The ice fishermen and snowmobilers will be grumbling again. The Coast Guard said the ice conditions were light this year. That probably means an early break up.
